Job Description

Learning & Development Coordinator

This high-energy, and dynamic individual will be dedicated to the development and training of the employees at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. They will help plan, communicate, and execute trainings; along with tracking attendance and sharing departmental completion. This role is highly administrative, therefore the successful candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, enjoy working independently and taking initiative, and being prepared for repetitive tasks. This role will assist during trainings, and requires confidence and comfortably engaging and facilitating trainings for groups of 8-140 people.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer, and be a role model for luxury, professional, friendly, and engaging service
Assist with the planning, and execution of a world class onboarding experience for several hundred new colleagues a year
Assist with the preparation, setup, teardown, and running of training sessions
Conduct sections of trainings, and act as a backup for the facilitation of training sessions in their entirety
Coordinate and work closely with Conference Services to set up training offerings
Create training sign ups, and maintain registrations on booking platform (Bookeo)
Create, and distribute appealing advertisements for trainings
Drive attendance and engagement for trainings by utilizing social media platforms and attending departmental meetings/briefings
Track the attendance and training task completion of each department
Communicate consistently with leaders regarding departmental completion of training tasks and attendance
Assist with the creation and implementation of training materials and presentations
Co-chair the Training Committee which focuses on the development of departmental trainers and each departments training resources
Provide support to departmental trainers and ensure compliance and consistency
Responsible for working with department leaders and trainers to review all departmental job task checklists and ensuring that the tools and training resources are in place for all departmental training
Assist in the certification of new trainers
Maintain, and stock training room
Proactively order supplies for training while adhering to a set budget
Assist with communicating and tracking the Educational Assistance Program
Champion the administration of the INES platform (Accor T&C System) which assists with record keeping, training classes, and leadership performance development/reviews
Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues and leaders
Investigate and source external development materials, training opportunities, and facilitators
Coordinate and assist outside trainers prior, during, and after training sessions
Explore available training resources at the Fairmont Banff Springs and on the INES platform so personalized recommendations can be made to colleagues and leaders looking to grow
Work closely with and support the Employee Experience Coordinator by assisting with staff events when necessary
Other duties and travel as required/assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Previous learning and development and facilitation experience is required
Previous experience creating and implementing training materials is required
Experience in the luxury hotel/hospitality industry is an asset
Experience in the field of Human Resources/Talent and Culture is an asset
University or College degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Human Resources, or related discipline is a strong asset
Computer experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher) and social media savvy with an excellent knowledge of Graphic Design Software (Adobe Suite, Canva etc)
Enthusiastic and positive personality with ability to build strong relationships
Sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize will be required
Results orientated with the ability to be flexible and to work well under pressure
Innovation and creativity
Ability to analyze data and trends and create strategies for improvement
Must have a passion for training, enthusiasm, and a high energy level
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
Ability to support a collaborative environment, and demonstrates a teamwork mentality
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
