Scope
To help create lasting memories for every guest by ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, provision of amenities, and consistency of service in all guest rooms of the hotel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Overall cleaning of the guest rooms to include, but not limited to: dusting, making and changing beds, removing used linens and towels and replacing with clean linens and towels, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping floors, replenishing guest amenities, emptying and disposing of recycling and garbage, delivering requests to rooms
Ensure lost and found items are labelled and returned to the Housekeeping office on a daily basis
Report maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas to housekeeping office, room quality checkers, or through a service order
Provide turndown service
Report to Room Quality Checkers any assigned rooms which do not require service
Support and assist the Housekeeping & Laundry team in tasks, duties and scheduling required to maintain successful operations
Participate in on-going training with equipment, tasks and duties
Be knowledgeable in Health & Safety and Hotel emergency procedures and endeavor to provide a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff
Ensure hotel security is protected by following the proper procedures
Physical Demands
Requires constant standing and walking
Frequent kneeling, squatting, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, reaching above and below shoulder-height
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
Exposure to cleaning chemicals
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
Flexible schedule to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Guest-service oriented
Demonstrates excellent time management skills and high attention to detail
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to meet objectives
Brings a positive attitude to work
Capable of remaining calm and working effectively under pressure
Works well independently
Able to communicate in English and understand health and safety material presented in English
