What can you expect?

The role of Trail Crew is focused in the Slopes Department, primarily in the farming and maintenance of the snowpack that comprises the majority of the skiable terrain at the resort. The Trail Crew Department prides themselves on the work they perform as essential to the quality of skiing that we put forward to the guests. They are also seen performing other tasks related to Events, Maintenance, Public Safety and Public Relations. Working in the Trail Crew Department is a very rewarding and exhilarating job, but you must be up for the challenge! This position within the Mountain Operations Department is focused on working outdoors, providing a memorable ski experience and the beginning of a worthwhile ski resort knowledge base in Operations. The skills learned here can pave the road toward a career in guiding, medical response, ski industry related trades or instruction.

This job might be right for you if you enjoy:
Assisting with staff hiring and performance management
Training staff in fencing techniques, policies and procedures
Running day to day operations and make informed decisions in Supervisor's absence
Ensuring staff complies with safe skiing policy and make sure staff is working in a safe manner
Making sure fencing and trail signs are maintained
Pounding steel into the ground for snow farming
Participating in avalanche control operations- specifically monitoring closures,
Learning to recognize potential safety hazards and rectify them,
Other duties as assigned
And you have:
Minimum 3 years' experience on Trail Crew
Must have good understanding of the mountain, prevailing winds, fence line placement and run names
Able to use Ceridian Dayforce system
Trained in Dispatch
Have Avalanche Operations Level 1 certification
Have good organizational skills.
Able to fill out purchase orders, employee paperwork and WCB forms
Have good knowledge in high altitude reclamation techniques
Proficient in falling and bucking with chainsaw
Supervisory experience is an asset
