Job Overview

Gourlay’s Pharmacy has proudly served the town of Banff since Hugh Gourlay opened its doors in 1923. We remain as a small, family run business which takes pride in caring for residents of the bow valley and visitors alike. Our store offers a fast paced and collaborative environment where we can assure that there will NEVER be a dull moment!

There will be lots of time spent interacting with all of our patients and responding to various inquiries - no two days are the same! You will be a big part of our practice and ensuring we are able to provide the best care in the Bow Valley.

Responsibilities:

Engage with customers in a friendly manor to provide advice and help with product related questions - providing referrals to pharmacists where appropriate
Accepting prescription orders at intake
Compliance packaging medications
Accurately inputting and filling prescriptions into pharmacy software (Kroll)
Counting, packaging, and labelling prescriptions
Assisting in drug inventory management
Communicating appropriately with patients and answering the phone professionally.
Operating the cash register, handling cash and other forms of payment (cheque, credit card, debit card, and charge transactions)
Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment
Maintaining strict confidentiality according to the Personal Health Information Act
Restocking vials and consumables each morning and ensuring printer cartridges are in stock
Other duties as assigned by Lead Pharmacist, staff pharmacist or owners.

Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, organizational skills, and time-management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently
Ability to work as an effective team member and assist other pharmacy staff members
Requirements

Must be living in the Bow Valley
Previous retail sales experience is an asset
Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
Strong oral communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
