Scope

Working as a member of the Banquet team, providing set up and service of guests’ functions while ensuring four diamond service levels and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
Set up, service, and tear down of a variety of functions for 5 to 500 guests
Perform a variety of duties including set ups, coffee service, bartending and meal services
Attend regularly scheduled Banquet meetings
Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for all set up and food & beverage requirements
Ensure all coffee breaks/meals/meeting rooms are set up for the required time and to the proper standards
Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of dry goods and items held for guests’ consumption
Ensure the proper maintenance and housekeeping of Banquet storage rooms, back spaces and functions spaces
Be prepared to work in other F&B outlets when required due to business/staffing levels
Collect cash, room charges and credit slips from guests for any individual charges for bar tabs or extra items ordered
Follow all policies and procedures when completing tasks
Physical Demands
Significant standing and walking
Frequent lifting and carrying of trays, tables, and other items weighing up to 25 pounds / 12 kg
Frequent use of hands for polishing glassware and cutlery
Frequent bending and reaching
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
Occasional sitting
May be required to assist with pushing carts weighing up to 400 pounds / 181 kg
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Alberta ProServe Certification
Able to meet the physical demands of the position
Previous experience in banquet service is an asset
Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Available to work a flexible schedule and long hours based on business levels
Customer-service oriented
