As an ambassador of the Town of Banff, you welcome visitors and users to The Fenlands, Banff Recreation Centre. You provide information to visitors of the Fenlands, administer drop-ins and program registrations, and assist customers who are interested in booking our event venues and spaces.

You have a naturally engaging personality that creates a sense of welcome and comfort for every adult and child that visits The Fenlands, and your enthusiasm never fails even when it means repeating yourself several times a day. Your professional and courteous demeanor helps you communicate accurate information about the services, features, and activities provided at The Fenlands and our other Town of Banff facilities. You are keen to share information with every visitor.

You are flexible with scheduling needs and must be available to work evening shifts (4:30 PM - 8:30 PM) and weekends to accommodate the variety of bookings at the Fenlands. Covering public skating, weddings, and tournaments, this position requires someone who can accommodate a flexible schedule when working alone or within a small team environment. You are able to meet the physical demands of walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling tables, chairs, and other equipment for the many events at Town of Banff facilities.

You have excellent attention to detail and your administrative skills include data entry, cash handling, and payment processing, and written correspondence. You thrive on variety and multiple demands – no request is too great and you manage all needs with a smile on your face. You can handle being interrupted often and do not get distracted easily requiring little specific direction and enjoying the prospect of putting a personal “stamp” on your duties.

This position is suited to someone who is dedicated to service and is committed to positive customer experiences. You are adept in Microsoft Office suite and have a valid driver’s license. This position requires an RCMP background check with vulnerable sector clearance. If you are looking for an opportunity to be the “face” of the Fenlands, we welcome your cover letter and resume for this position.

“Taking care of Banff: our People, our Community, our Park.”
