Department: Housekeeping

Position: House person

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor

Primary Function:

The Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets employ House persons that are responsible for cleaning the Resort and maintaining a clean, safe, and fun environment for guests while providing excellent customer service.

Position Responsibilities:

· Ensure all assigned rooms are clean by the 4 pm Check In time.

· Interacts with guests and customers in a positive manner

· Get assignments, keys radio and special guest requests from your supervisor or manager at the beginning of your shift.

· Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the lobbies, hallways, public restrooms and public areas of the hotel.

· Clean and maintain the appearance of the surrounding outdoor areas of the Resort, including the sidewalks, BBQ area, Garbage and Recycling Bin, Recycling and Wood Shed.

· Clean Pool Deck & Changing Rooms – bring dirty towels to laundry throughout all shifts

· Assist with stripping of rooms and cleaning of fireplaces, decks and check for any maintenance issues.

· Delivery of wood and kindling.

· Maintain the Golf Cars & HSKP Carts.

· Restocking of Maids Room Amenities (Evening House person)

· Collect Dirty Linens and Garbage.

· Cleaning of assigned areas of the Resort including the shampooing of soiled public area carpets, light fixtures, elevators and wood chopping area.

· Chop and bundle kindling.

· Deliver items to guest rooms upon request from the front desk.

· Perform duties of a Room Attendant when necessary.

· Support Room Attendants with moving furniture or heavy items.

· Complying with Health & Safety Standards

· Any other task assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor

Qualifications:

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Good cross cultural communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

· Ability to effectively communicate in both one on one and group settings.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to frequently walk, run, stand or stoop

· Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

· Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision

· Ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions
