Scope

Our Lead Spa Practitioner is a natural nurturer who has an innate understanding of how to provide each guest with the highest spa experience. The primary responsibility is to provide leadership and training to Spa staff, within the daily operations of the Spa as needed, including but not limited to: massage, esthetics, body care, and front desk.

Duties and Responsibilities

Have complete and up-to-date knowledge of Spa menu treatments and services offered including products used, step-by-step protocols and best practices, and ability to administer these treatments.
Oversee training of staff, ensuring technique competency and product knowledge; quality and portion control; time management; sanitation and safety; and understanding of company philosophy and culture.
Ensure all treatments are being performed the same according to products and procedures. Re-train and provide training updates as needed.
Manage employees in a professional, proactive, and supportive way, ensuring they are following established policies and practices.
Assist in creating protocols for spa services menu.
Assist in maintaining sufficient inventory levels and provide Spa & Fitness Manager or Spa Supervisor with a list of products required for both Massage and Esthetics.
Attend all training workshops held by the Spa at Rimrock Resort.
Maintain proficient product and service knowledge for the purpose of sales promotion.
Ensure team Health & Safety awareness and oversee the organizing, disinfecting, and overall cleanliness of the Spa facilities.
Assist with inventory and laundry as required.
Provide exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Exercise dependability and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Maintain a clear understanding of 4-Diamond Standards.
Physical Demands

When providing esthetics treatments, requires significant sitting, bending and use of the hands with occasional standing and walking
When providing massage treatments, requires significant standing, bending, and stretching and applying pressure using the hands and arms
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Completion of an esthetics program from a recognized esthetics college or academy and completion of a registered massage therapist program
Registered in good standing with a recognized massage therapy association in Alberta
Able to provide a wide range of esthetic and massage services and techniques
2+ years of previous professional work experience as an esthetician and/or massage therapist is required
2 years of customer service experience in a professional spa environment
Previous leadership experience and an aptitude for leading and training others
Strong communication, organizing, and planning skills for working in a busy environment
Comfortable using a computer, POS machine, and handling cash
Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
Must be available to work a flexible scheduled as needed, including weekdays, weekends and holidays
Emotional maturity and a professional demeanour
