Experience and requirements:

Previous accounting and/or administration experience is an asset
Cash handling experience
Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
Familiarity with OPERA is an asset
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English
Excellent attention to detail and problem solving ability
Excellent organizational skill and adaptability to unexpected situations
Able to work with a variety of personalities and abide to confidentiality clause
Able to perform physical demands such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs)
Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly

Complete daily deposit sheet and Front Desk and F&B cash outs, pay out server due backs
Balance petty cash and provide cash for department heads
Complete journals and revenue summary
Prepare bank deposit as required
Compare Front Desk credit card settlement with 3C Portal reports, investigate discrepancies
Compare F&B revenue with the terminal settlement reports, investigate discrepancies
Code kitchen invoices and complete weekly spreadsheet
Code liquor purchases in spreadsheet as they arrive
Monitor and balance cash levels
Review and reimburse petty cash vouchers
Ensure petty cash vouchers balance with receipts total in petty cash spreadsheet (weekly)
Create purchase order for invoices, code and ensure approval before sending out to Head Office (weekly)
File all paperwork including invoices and Night Audit packs
Send out invoices of FIT reservations in Opera AR. Ensure Expedia reservations are tracked accurately in Expedia Billing spreadsheet and upload to Expediapartnercentral.com (weekly)
Ensure duty and personal accounts data is balanced in spreadsheet, complete gratuity summary, and send all to Payroll Manager promptly at the end of each pay period (biweekly)
Month End Accounting duties

Review, code and have Lodge Manager approve petty cash vouchers
Ensure all journals for the month are completed and balanced
Complete Lodge’s revenue summary
Ensure promo account data is balanced in spreadsheet accurately
Complete journal entry for promo accounts and ensure Officer Charge Summary is updated to include all relevant entries from the month
Compile documents for month end
Complete monthly Food and Beverage costs
Post all F&B discounts in promo account through Opera
