Description

The Guest Services Assistant Supervisor works alongside the Guest Services Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in the Guest Services Department and Ticket Windows. The Assistant Supervisor delivers consistent leadership and motivation to the department and provides an exceptional experience for guests and team members of Sunshine Village, responding to inquiries in an engaging way that builds relationships and makes everyone feel welcome. The Guest Services Assistant Supervisor reports to the Guest Services Supervisor and the Controller, and liaises frequently with the Accounting, Administration, Security, and all base area departments.

Job Functions

Effective oversight of day-to-day operations of the Guest Services and Ticket Windows teams.

Directly assisting the Guest Service Supervisor with season opening preparation, department training, and shut down of operations.

Working in a fast-paced, high-volume, ever-changing environment and approaching challenging situations in a friendly and professional manner, working to resolve issues with guest experience and company policy in mind.

Providing supervision to department team members, assisting with guest inquiries via a thorough understanding of Sunshine Village’s products and services.

Administering release of liability/waiver documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. Delegating department daily duties: filing, organizing the lost and found room & general office cleaning.

Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:
Daily communication with the Accounting team, completing the departmental daily sales report, auditing all employees cash outs for any variances.
Assisting the Supervisor with daily duties including DSRs, nightly processing, preparing BRINKS.
Overseeing keys and alarm codes to be able to open and close department, also provided with and responsible for safe code to disperse floats, action change requests, and replenishing card stock.
Effectively communicate, support and reinforce all company initiatives and policy/procedure changes, through review and attendance at company training sessions and meetings.
Assist with documented, accurate worksite inspections.
Perform timely and complete documentation of accurate incident reports, report deficiencies to appropriate departments and personnel.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of effective scheduling to meet daily business needs and know how to alter staffing levels accordingly.
Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements
Previous supervisory experience in a guest services role or similar customer-service related experience, and with cash handling
Able to work in a confidential capacity.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (word, excel, outlook, etc.), is required, and working knowledge of additional computer systems is preferred.
This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent telephone manner.
Confidence in leading and motivating a large team and delegating duties.
Managing supervisory daily duties and assisting front line during peak periods
Energetic, enthusiastic, well-organized, and enjoys working with other people
Great interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
Great decision-making skills, problem solving skills and ability to think on your feet
Must be willing and available to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays, and overtime over opening, Christmas and peak season periods).

Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This role must maintain a high standard of professional conduct at all times, particularly when in uniform and acting as a company representative.
This position at times works alone, handles cash, and sensitive, confidential information.
This is primarily an indoor role, but outdoor travel occurs, and both preparedness and the ability to move around in a remote, alpine environment is required.
Some indoor uniform pieces are provided.
This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
