This is an opportunity to live in a stunning national park setting, while “Taking care of Banff” by keeping greens spaces and the Town as beautiful as its natural surroundings.

As a summer seasonal labourer, your duties include; taking care of public green spaces and cemeteries, mowing and trimming of turf, weeding, litter picking, special events equipment delivery, set up and tear down, as well as other maintenance functions necessary to keep our public spaces and parks in the best possible condition for our residents’ and visitors’ enjoyment.

If you are reliable (you enjoy the early start to the day) and energetic (you enjoy being outside and are satisfied by physical work), The Town of Banff is happy to consider your application for our Municipal Parks crew. Our seasons runs 4 – 6 months (May to September with the possibility of extension; weather depending) and operates seven days a week on a compressed schedule. Working 4 shifts a week will leave you 3 days off each week to enjoy all that summer in Banff has to offer.

You have experience driving vehicles up to a one-tonne classification, work experience in grounds and/or landscaping and knowledge of workplace safety programs. You are able to perform physically demanding tasks (including heavy lifting, carrying, and long periods of walking, standing and working in all weather conditions). This position requires a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (current clean abstract required on employment start date).

Rate of pay is between $17.00/hour and $19.00/hour depending on experience. When you complete the term of your contract, in its entirety, you will be awarded a $1.00 per hour bonus (to be paid on your final pay cheque) for each regular hour worked.
