Conveniently located in the Town of Banff, just steps away from the glacier-fed Bow River, Banff Park Lodge is a full-service Resort Hotel and Conference Centre. Here we experience the best of both worlds: the peace and solitude of a quiet location, yet quick access to a livelier scene in downtown Banff. The Banff Park Lodge has two sister properties; the Bow View Lodge and the Peaks Hotel & Suites.

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Crave Mountain Grill Servers, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. Mostly, shifts are breakfast, PM or split shifts. The wage will be negotiated based on experience for 30-40 hours per week. Multiple start dates available. We are aiming for a start date mid-late June, depending on the current Alberta provincial Covid-19 restrictions.

Primary Function:

· To provide a memorable dining experience which exceeds the guest’s expectations, concentrating on friendly, efficient and professional service.

· All staff must be familiar with Safety, Emergency and Security procedures

· Do all tasks, jobs and activities using the Environmental Mission Statement as a guideline and be aware and report of opportunities for further waste and water reduction and energy consumption.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

· Report for shift at least 5 minutes before your shift starts, with a professional appearance and positive attitude.

· Set up/organize sections, side stations, buffets, service area, bussing area.

· Serve guests, both in Crave Mountain Grill and Room Service, clean and reset tables/sections according to BPL service standards and task lists.

· Ensure that the restaurant is bussed and ready at all times, not only your allocated section.

· Ensure that all china, flatware, and glassware are polished.

· Restock all food and beverage items as you go (sugars, jam, etc.).

· Being completely familiar with menu items, modifiers, daily special items; as well as room service, wine and beverage lists.

· Maximize sales opportunities with progressive up-selling techniques.

· Record all sales in opera maintain responsibility for your key and outstanding checks.

· All bills are settled promptly and correctly.

· Be knowledgeable of the BPL, Banff and surrounding areas to be able to provide guest with this information.

· Care of hotel equipment and supplies:

· Only use equipment as designed, to increase safety and reduce breakage.

· Store in safe and secure locations, to reduce breakage and theft.

· Immediately report deficiencies in quantity and/or conditions of equipment and supplies.

· Team work

· To ensure guest satisfaction, all BPL staff must work together co-operatively and effectively (i.e.: within department, with kitchen staff, etc.).

· Conflicts must be resolved in favour of the guest’s needs/expectations.

· When conflicts cannot be resolved by individuals involved, the supervisor must be informed.

· Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and associated areas, room service and hall checks

· Perform any “deep clean” duties – brass work, “chewing gum patrol” etc. as required

· Attend all Training Meetings (these are mandatory) as scheduled

· Tipping out of cashiers, busser, bar persons, managers is mandatory

· Perform other associated duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate:

· Reliable and can commit to at least 9-12 months of employment

· Previous Food and Beverage experience is an asset

· Working knowledge of Point of Sale System preferred

· Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

· Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a charismatic team player

· Proficient in the English language, second language is an asset

· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

· Must be flexible in terms of working hours
