Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage (Spring/Summer 2024)

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will ensure that employees provide phenomenal guest experiences resulting in lasting memories. They will lead, develop and coach a team of professional employees to enhance the level of service and meet standards.

What you will be doing:

Provide on-the-floor supervision and support to employees and coach and develop them to ensure standards are being maintained
Be involved with ongoing menu/wine/cocktail development
Have a good understanding of day-to-day expectations, tasks and operations as well as forethought to upcoming events
Review guest comments, respond to any concerns in a timely and professional fashion
Understand both the restaurant’s and the hotel’s financial goals to achieve superior long-term financial returns to our shareholders
Ensure that service essentials, steps of service and brand standards are being followed by the team

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Must have 2 years previous experience as a Leader in Food & Beverage; preferably in a full service hotel or upscale restaurant
Must have pro-serve certification and POS system experience
Wine knowledge at or above WSET Level 2 an asset
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality/Hotel Administration an asset
A passion for food & wine
Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20+lbs and be able to be on your feet for 8 hours or more
