Location: We are seeking experienced Culinary professionals for Chef de Partie positions for our Banff Sunshine ski resort operation.

Banff Sunshine Village's unique location will make you feel miles away from civilization, even though you're only a 15-minute drive from the town of Banff. We are located 7,200 feet high on the Continental Divide, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Our three mountains offer vast terrain, and will wow you with 360 degrees of uninterrupted mountain views. Banff Sunshine provides terrain suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. You can even ski two provinces (Alberta and British Columbia) in one run! Skiers and snowboarders love Sunshine for our snow and our extra long winter. Our seven month ski season stretches from early November until late May, making us the longest non-glacial ski season in Canada.

Principal Function:
The Chef de Partie performs as a leader in the Kitchen, supporting the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in food production and may assume the duties of the Sous Chef in their absence.

Essential Responsibilities:
Support the Chefs in a fast-paced, quality production kitchen, ensuring successful execution of large-scale production for a variety of restaurants, retail F&B and events.
Participate in coordinating the flow of work within the culinary department, such as preparation lists, assigning duties, training and supervision of employees, to maximize quality and efficiency.
In collaboration with other culinary team members, prepare and coordinate orders to ensure they are prepared and cooked in a consistent and quality manner and meet event and retail operations deadlines.
Set up and stock stations and ensure other work areas are stocked accordingly, as directed by Executive Chef or Sous Chefs.
Utilize proper recipes to ensure consistent quality; presentation technique and quality standards.
Liaise with managers within our operation as needed to ensure that all event and internal needs are met.
Assist in implementing and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitary practices for food handling, safe equipment use, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and other areas.

Contribute to goal of 100% client and guest satisfaction through personal commitment to customer service and leading the culinary team by example.
Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Qualifications/Skills:
Formal Culinary training. Food Safe Certification.
Demonstrated passion for high-quality culinary practices, with 3+ years of similar experience in a high-volume operation strongly preferred.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience.
Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
Strong focus on service excellence and a positive attitude that contributes to team work.
Ability to adapt quickly to change, and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines in a high-volume capacity.
Must be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual, with the ability to handle many tasks at one time, and work to numerous deadlines at once.
Proficient written and spoken English communication skills in order to effectively interact with team members in a busy environment and for safety within the kitchen.
Computer proficiency specifically in Outlook, Word and Excel.

Other Requirements:
Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
