Full-Time, 6 Month Term Contract
As a Food and Beverage Supervisor you “Take Care of Banff” by modeling leadership and delivery of food and beverage services at the new Café located in The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. Your professional experience highlights your enjoyment of being hands-on in the front and back of house operations as much as interacting with your team and our customers. The Fenlands is the hub of a variety of winter events and activities for facility rental clients and community members including membership leagues, hockey tournaments, curling bonspiels, skating, special events and more.

Position duties are designed to be successfully accomplished within the weekly hours and include;

Developing food and beverage menu and offerings that meets our clients needs.
Preparing, presenting and storing all food and beverage supplies.
Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and Alberta’s Food Safety regulations.
Making suggestions and taking meal orders and operating a point-of-sale system for the café.
Supplying, dispensing and mixing of beverages, cleaning of bar areas and equipment.
Preparing the bar for service, taking beverage orders and serving drinks.
Recruitment of café staff, including: screening, interviewing, selecting, training and scheduling.
Developing procedures, checklists and schedules for cleaning of kitchen, bar area and dining area and ensuring training and performance according to requirements.
Managing inventory, including: ordering, stocking and ensuring that all food and liquor supplies and other cafe essentials are on hand while also limiting spoilage.
Participating budgeting process and financial management of café, including: developing. Implementing and managing the budget, forecast, inventory and operating cost to maximize revenue and manage expenses.
Interact with customers to ensure food quality, service delivery and customer feedback is addressed.
If you are interested in helping us kick off this new Café service at The Fenlands, your cover letter and resume will describe your specific experience in food and beverage services and confirm your Alberta Food Safety Certification (preferably Alberta ProService and ProTect Security). This is a hands-on leadership role that includes; serving food and alcohol, applicants must demonstrate they are 18 years or older.

Working safely is a condition of employment at the Town of Banff. All employees are accountable for our internal responsibility systems by adhering to Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Town of Banff safety protocols. Your work experience in the food and beverage and/or culinary industry positions you well as a candidate for this newest endeavour at the Town of Banff.

For your safety and the safety of others, you will be required to demonstrate (in writing from an authorized Health Services site) that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses) as of your hire date.

The Fenlands is a seven-day-a-week operation and this position will be scheduled up to 40 hours per week with a focus on weekend services. The wage ranges between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
