Check us out at banffcollective.com About the Role Reporting to the Chief of People Operations, BHC's Human Resources Specialists play a key role in driving BHC’s people-first culture, supporting our growing collective of 15+ venues and 1000+ team members. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of people programs, talent management, and compliance initiatives, ensuring BHC remains a great place to work and grow. You’ll be part of an energetic and collaborative People Operations team focused on delivering exceptional support to our venue teams. This Position Includes: Competitive base salary Monthly $200 Gift Card to use at any BHC Venue 50% off food, bottles of wine & sake for yourself + a guest at all BHC venues Learning & Development allowance Cell phone allowance Extended health benefits with premiums completely paid for by BHC RRSP matching program Short-Term & Long-Term Disability coverage Employee Profit Share Program 4 weeks paid time off + statutory holidays Paid community volunteer time Affordable manager housing is available What You’ll Do: Performance Success Support (40%) Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries Provide guidance on policies, performance management, and workplace best practices Support investigations and documentation related to employee concerns, in alignment with Alberta Employment Standards and BHC policies Foster positive working relationships through coaching, consistency, and clear communication Maintain confidential and accurate employee records Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention (30%) Complete full-cycle recruitment for Back of House teams, and partner with venue leadership to support Front of House teams Maintain job postings and applicant tracking Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs Collaborate with managers on retention strategies and internal mobility HR Programs, Systems & Compliance (30%) Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards Code, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and Human Rights legislation Maintain HR systems and ensure data accuracy Support HR metrics, reporting, and analytics to inform decision-making Participate in HR projects such as training initiatives, performance reviews, and policy updates Support payroll and benefits processes in collaboration with the Payroll & Benefits team and Employee Housing team What You Bring 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, ideally within hospitality or a multi-location organization Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field CPHR designation (or working toward it) preferred Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights, and OHS legislation Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across teams Excellent communication (written and verbal) and conflict-resolution skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with tech Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Enthusiasm for hospitality and a genuine passion for people Banff Hospitality Collective: Are you ready to join us at Banff’s most iconic and popular downtown restaurants?
