What can you expect?
This outdoor role involves physical labour and lifting, while maintaining a safe freestyle terrain for skiers and snowboarders. Overseeing Slope Grooming Drivers responsible for the construction and maintenance of the Terrain Parks and special events features. They will also work with internal departments and external stakeholders in the many aspects of major events. They will collaborate with media and marketing departments on sponsorship requirements, promotion, and innovative advancements of the industry. The position will work under the direction of the Senior Supervisor of Slopes & Mountain Operations Manager.

Acting as a supportive and positive team leader
Assist with hiring, scheduling, training, and performance reviews
Overseeing the initial builds & nightly maintenance of the Terrain Parks
Provide a safe, fun and enjoyable freestyle ski/snowboard area
Mitigate risk to Banff Sunshine Village through risk assessments and accident investigations
Knowledge of snow farming techniques to accumulate snow for the building of various features
Working in the great outdoors (it’s cold!).
And you have:
Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience working with freestyle terrain
Previous supervisory experience is preferred
Knowledge of basic drafting and have a competent understanding of physics in relation to snow features
Experience in risk management, knowledge of how resort user demographics relate to Terrain Parks, and an understanding of overall skier traffic flow
Working knowledge of weather patterns and how environmental conditions effect the surfaces and consistency of snow in the Terrain Parks
Demonstrated knowledge of daily snow cat maintenance and safe operation
Able to properly delegate tasks to team members to complete projects in a timely manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word
