Job Description

A Bartender at Fairmont Banff Springs is responsible for the development and creation of all specialty drinks. Our Bartenders take pride in each drink that leaves their bar; with a critical eye for detail, extensive beverage knowledge, and a flare for showmanship, the bartender provides a libation experience, unparalleled.

Job Duties Include:

Reporting to the F&B Leadership Team. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Completing opening and closing duties, i.e. daily cleaning, stocking, dining room set up and maintenance.
Working in a team atmosphere to provide exceptional service
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Participating in ongoing learning opportunities and enhancing their skills, abilities and professionalism for personal growth and development
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Maintaining extensive product knowledge of menu items, beverage offerings and outlet operations
Providing phenomenal guest experiences resulting in lasting memories for our guests.
Other duties as assigned
Able to work as a solo bartender in charge of wines, beers, ciders, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails and ability to learn outlet specific beverages
Ordering and monitoring inventory. i.e. responsible for daily orders, managing par levels, recording wastage/spillage/transfers, monthly inventory counts
Daily operations. i.e. set up, pack down, polishing, cleaning and maintaining bar area (including surrounding areas), assisting floor when needed, serving tables, portering food, etc
Meet, greet and seat guests and coordinate with other colleagues and MOD regarding preferences, allergies and special occasions.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years experience in a fast paced restaurant/bar environment
Must have Alberta Pro-serve Certification prior to applying
Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required. We currently use Silverware
Strong wine, beer, cocktail and food knowledge
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
