Greenskeeper / Turf Care

Come and join a winning team for the 2024 Golf season. The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course has won nearly every award there is, ranging from #1 in Canada to in the Top Ten Golf Courses in the World. Working in the Turf Care department, the Greenskeeper’s high attention to detail ensures golf course maintenance is completed to exceed our golfers’ expectations. This is your opportunity to make the Canadian Rockies your “office”, working at the Fairmont Banff Springs.

We are looking for keen golfers with an eye for detail to join our seasonal team between April - October 2024.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendents, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Cutting grasses with a wide variety of self-propelled and push type machines
Smoothing bunker sand with hand rakes and machines
Setting the golf course for play
Labor intensive work in the form of digging, lifting, pushing, walking fast, and assorted tasks
Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Previous experience in Turf Care is an asset
Class 5 Driver’s License
Updated driver’s abstract
Detailed oriented
Perform tasks under minimal supervision
Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance work
Understanding of the rules of golf
Ability to work in a team and independently

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Lifting & Carrying up to 70 lbs.
Pushing & Pulling up to 50 lbs.
Bending & Kneeling
Repetitive tasks and movements
Working early mornings, as early as 5am
Working in a variety of temperatures and conditions (snow, heat, rain)
