What can you expect?
The Night Auditor provides an outstanding guest experience by creating a welcoming environment at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, handling the Front Desk area after daytime operating hours. They are responsible for auditing and reconciling all financial transactions and ensuring guest needs and expectations are met. The Night Auditor reports jointly to the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Management Team and the Controller.

Independent oversight of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Front Desk area during off-peak hours: 10:15 p.m. to 8:15 a.m.
Accounting, Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
Reconcile all financial transactions, review hotel accounts, balance cash/credit card machines and incoming revenues, including but not limited to: room & retail charges, food & beverage charges, lift ticket and ski lesson purchases.
Processing lift ticket charges, season passes, and discount cards.
Produce daily sales reports and management reports.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting reports, and guest reservations.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with industry and Sunshine Village record retention requirements.
Compile and publish latest snowfall and grooming status reports.
Alongside the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Management Team and Controller, this role is responsible for:
Continuous development, application and assessment of auditing procedures in line with industry best practices and Sunshine Village policies.
Maintaining accurate and complete training manuals.
This role may include training additional Night Audit and Front Desk staff, along with review and oversight of work.
Customer Service
Answer guest inquiries and fulfill requests regarding all hotel services and facilities, sharing knowledge of Sunshine Village and the Bow Valley.
Assisting guests with checking in and out and with their luggage and equipment.
Organize transportation to and from the Bourgeau Base check-in area, and up to the hotel outside of gondola operating hours.
Provides support to first responders and security officers in response to any incidents or emergencies occurring within the Sunshine Mountain Lodge or larger ski/village area, acting as a centralized dispatch operator. Timely and accurate incident reporting is essential.
Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

And you have:
At least one (1) year prior hotel and accounting experience, ideally in a remote or multifaceted work environment.
Accounting, payment handling and/or previous hotel experience preferred. Completion of high school education and ideally some post-secondary training is an asset.
Strong computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential. POS, PMS or custom software experience is an asset.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to problem solve independently, and efficiently.
Proven ability to work well on your own with limited supervision.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to take the initiative/lead on projects.
A positive attitude and ability to provide training, support and assistance to others.
Must be neat, punctual and dependable.
A clean criminal record check is required for this position.
Current CPR and First Aid would be an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Considerations:
Employees must always be of a sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position requires occasional lifting of luggage, equipment and supplies (up to 20 kg).
All team members are expected to wear appropriate indoor/outdoor footwear.
Some uniform pieces are provided.
This role is subject to the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and HR Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
