Description
The Staff Accommodation Supervisor maintains all aspects of housing and well-being for those who engage in the unique experience of both working and living at Sunshine Village. The Supervisor excels at being a strong company leader and liaison for residents, ensuring policies are followed while promoting a positive, respectful environment. The Supervisor reports to the Human Resources Manager, liaises frequently with third-party operators, managers and supervisors at Sunshine who have employees or contractors living and/or working in staff accommodation, and coordinates with the facilities departments. They oversee a team of custodial staff who maintain the staff accommodation areas.

Job Functions
The primary function of this role is to provide excellent service to all residents, employees, and third parties utilizing Sunshine’s staff accommodation, including:

Ensuring accurate and complete documentation is received from residents and/or third-party coordinators.
Coordinating and assigning housing and facilitating transfers, always ensuring that all residents are accurately and promptly accounted for with a timely tracking system.
Completing room inspections prior to arrival and upon move out.
Adhering to the standards outlined in the staff accommodation License of Occupation.
Maintaining an inventory of furniture and amenities.
Collaborating with Security, Human Resources, Legal, and Managers when resolving resident concerns.
Leading a custodial team to ensure that the staff accommodation is cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
With the Assistant Supervisor, creating and maintaining the Resident Advisor (RA) program, helping to organize and attend events and sessions from time to time.
Coordinating and vetting service providers for additional maintenance services.
Treating everyone in a respectful manner while upholding a professional work environment.
Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (primarily external housing partners, area service providers, cleaning, and maintenance contractors).

Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
Ensuring resident rent is accurately accounted for and forwarding information to Payroll.
Effectively communicate, support, and reinforce all company initiatives and policy/procedure changes.
Working closely with the Recruitment and HR teams to allocate staff accommodation.
Conducting performance appraisals and performance management with HR.
Perform documented, accurate worksite inspections, and complete documentation of accurate incident reports to the relevant parties (Security, HR, HS) in a timely manner.
Ensuring procedures and policies are current and reasonable, reviewing with HR, Legal, Management and Security when updates or changes are required or requested.
Standardizing checklists, procedures, and additional documentation within the department, ensuring execution and completion.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Working with Facilities (Building, Electrical, Utilities) on repair, maintenance, and building projects.
Reporting deficiencies to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Overseeing, preparing, and updating (when required) a rolling maintenance plan for the on-site staff accommodation buildings.
Focusing on a high standard of cleaning and sanitization in all buildings, units, storage, and common areas.
This position must always ensure professional, confidential, and helpful service interactions, assisting and supporting with general inquiries, housing issues, and policy interpretation and application. A thorough understanding of the company’s operations, policies, goals, and objectives is required.

Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements
Must have a minimum of 1-2 yrs of supervisory experience
Minimum of two years’ experience within the accommodation, recreation, tourism or similar industry.
Proven ability to lead a team, be self-motivated, and work as a team player.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.).
Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
Able to work independently and in a confidential capacity.
Good attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to run meetings and implement department and training initiatives.
Passion for providing outstanding, professional service.
Able to remain calm under pressure, while consistently meeting deadlines.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
Completion of training in additional relevant areas for the role may be required or requested, e.g., HR investigations, tenancy law, fire safety, facilities management.
Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays, occasional evenings) and stay on-site, if required.
General understanding of building maintenance.
Must maintain professional conduct when in uniform, and knowingly acting as a company representative, on and off duty, and online.
Possess safe work habits with an awareness of safe work procedures regarding hazardous activities/actions.
Must be neat, alert, dependable, and punctual.
Must have a driver's license and have your own car
Additional Considerations
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position at times requires the quick ability to switch between seated office work and active engagement through the facilities. Constant motion, rotation, occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of equipment, and a good level of physical fitness is required.
This role may operate machinery, use hand tools, and may be subject to inclement weather. Training is required for certain equipment, items, and procedures.
On occasion, the Supervisor may work alone, at night, and in a remote, alpine environment.
Required indoor uniform pieces are provided. Everyone working at the Ski Area must be prepared and wear appropriate footwear, gloves, layers, etc. for the conditions and for their role.
This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Staff Accommodation Supervisor must be aware of and adhere to relevant standards under those documents, along with, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Canada National Parks Acts, and the Residential Tenancies Act, where applicable.
