Job Description
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the daily internal audit of the company’s revenues. This role requires excellent attention to detail and involves the monitoring and configuration of the company’s internal controls surrounding sales and inventory. This dynamic role interacts with many of the different departments across the resort to ensure the accuracy of financial information and the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Accounting Department. This is a seasonal contract running until June 1, 2023.

Essential Functions

Auditing daily sales reports, compiling sales journals, and entering them into the accounting system.
Monitoring and configuring the internal controls of the different point-of-sales systems.
Monitoring and reconciliation of direct-to-lift charges.
Monitoring and reconciliation of season pass installment payment plans.
General Ledger account reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies.
General Ledger journal preparation and processing.
Backup for the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Hotel Night Audit function.
Routine and ad hoc financial reporting.
Assisting and supporting the Accounts Receivable function.
Assisting and supporting the Accounts Payable & Purchasing function.
Assisting and supporting departmental inventory counts.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Requirements

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Previous accounting experience is considered an asset.
Previous experience working with different point-of-sales systems is considered an asset.
Advanced Excel skills.
Adaptability to shifting priorities.
Self-motivated with excellent time-management and communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
