What can you expect working as a Snowmaker?
Making snow! The amount of natural snowfall at Sunshine Village is often unpredictable and our snowmaking program prepares the resort for safe skiing. The main responsibilities include:
Using pumps, snow guns, hoses and electrical connectors to make snow!
Become knowledgeable in snow farming techniques using t-steel and tensor fencing.
Becoming familiar with radio communication, language and protocols.
Learn the ski area, its operational boundary, run names and locations of essential facilities.
Working long shifts throughout the nighttime in minus degree temperatures. It’s cold!
About You:
Trained, experienced and knowledgeable in the following areas as they relate to making snow: Air compressors, Water pumps, Mechanical aptitude, Compressor/pump mechanics, Electrical systems, Instrumentation, Fusing HDPE pipe, Pipe laying, Construction.
Knowledgeable in fan gun systems- or possess the ability to learn about their operation and care
Computer knowledge- especially Excel.
Ability to work long shifts in cold weather, and at night.
Working weekends and holidays required during ski season.
