ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES As an Interpretive Coordinator at the Banff Gondola, your daily pursuit is to bring the stories of Sulphur Mountain to life through engaging, meaningful, and authentic guest experiences. You will support the planning and delivery of interpretive programming, mentor frontline teams in storytelling and guest engagement, and help ensure every visitor leaves with a deeper connection to this extraordinary place. Support and deliver interpretive programming across the Banff Gondola, covering topics such as mountain geology, wildlife and their habitats, alpine and subalpine ecosystems, climate change, sustainability, Indigenous perspectives, and regional and gondola history Develop new interpretive content, training materials, scripts, and resources to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with brand and place Coordinate interpretive activations, including scheduled programs, workshops, special events, and seasonal experiences Design and deliver multi-format training programs for the Guest Experience team throughout the year, with a focus on storytelling, engagement techniques, and effective guiding practices Provide ongoing coaching and support to guides and frontline teams, reinforcing best practices and hospitality standards Evaluate interpretive delivery regularly to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with guest experience expectations Model exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and interpretive excellence Act as a visible and approachable presence on the floor, supporting teams during peak periods and special programs Assist the Guest Experience Manager and Guest Experience Leadership team with projects, reporting, and operational tasks as assigned Collaborate closely with Guest Experience Leadership, Operations, and Programming teams to align interpretation with daily operations Support collaboration with Indigenous partners, including storytelling initiatives and cultural learning opportunities Demonstrate stewardship of the environment, with a focus on sustainability and working with partners Support daily Banff Gondola operations when required, including assisting during high-volume periods or special events Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the operation REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Previous interpretive guiding, education, or training experience required Background in geology, biology, environmental science, education, tourism, or a related field preferred Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and digital tools Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Passion for developing others and elevating hospitality standards Strong commitment to environmental education and climate change awareness Creative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, standing for extended periods, and in all mountain weather conditions Must meet Pursuit grooming and appearance standards Standard First Aid and multilingual skills are assets but not required Criminal record check required About Us: We're more than a hospitality and attractions company.
