The Junior Buyer plays a key role in supporting and executing the retail buying strategy across the Banff Jasper Collection - one of Canada’s most iconic destination retail portfolios.

As part of a two-person Buying team, this role focuses on in-season execution, replenishment ownership, inventory flow, and store support, ensuring our retail locations remain well-stocked, visually strong, and commercially successful throughout the year.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career buyer who is commercially minded, detail-oriented, and excited to grow into a future Senior Buyer role while working closely with stores, vendors, and leadership.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
(including but not limited)

Buying Execution & Replenishment

Own in-season replenishment across assigned categories and locations to maintain strong in-stock levels and visual density.
Prepare and execute purchase orders aligned with sales performance, forecasts, and Open-to-Buy targets.
Monitor sell-through, inventory levels, and seasonal trends to support proactive buying decisions.
Manage substitutions, transfers, and in-season adjustments to reduce stockouts and missed sales.
Support clearance and markdown execution in alignment with buying strategy.
Inventory Planning & Operational Support

Partner with Inventory and Operations teams to support: Auto-PO Setup & Management, Min/Max Adjustments, Inventory Accuracy & Flow
Track and follow up on purchase orders, ETAs, backorders, and delivery issues, escalating risks proactively.
Support store openings, seasonal transitions, and micro-retail projects through timely product coordination.
Vendor & Product Coordination

Maintain ongoing communication with vendors regarding product availability, pricing, timelines, and substitutions.
Support vendor negotiations related to MOQs, timelines, and cost efficiencies.
Assist with vendor onboarding, product setup, and sample management.
Gather and share product feedback from stores and guests to inform future buying decisions.
Store Support & Visual Merchandising

Partner with Store Managers to support incoming product, category growth, and execution on the sales floor.
Assist with rollout of planograms, merchandising standards, and visual guidelines
Provide on-site support during key periods (openings, resets, peak season) to ensure stores are guest-ready and on standard.
Support product knowledge and visual merchandising training alongside the Senior Buyer and Operations team.
Collaboration & Growth

Work closely with the Senior Buyer, Operations Manager, Inventory team, and Store Managers.
Provide regular updates on PO status, replenishment needs, and product performance.
Participate in seasonal planning, assortment reviews, and post-season analysis.
Actively develop buying, commercial, and merchandising skills with a clear pathway toward future growth.
SKILLS QUALICIATIONS & EXPERIENCE

2–4 years of experience in retail buying, merchandise planning, inventory, or related roles.
Strong commercial mindset with comfort working with numbers and performance data.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Curiosity for product, trends, and guest behavior.
Willingness and flexibility to travel between Banff, Golden, Waterton and Jasper as required.
Experience in apparel, gifts, souvenirs, or destination retail is an asset, but not required.
