THE ROLE

Thank you for your interest in joining our team as General Accounting Assistant.

Job Overview: The main responsibility of this position involves assisting the accounting office in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payables, and other administration duties.

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

Maintain Confidentiality: As an Accounting Assistant, you are expected to respect the confidentially of the Financial Operation information of the hotel. All financial information that you acquire during your employment are to be kept confidential,
Review the daily income journal, verify credit card receipts, and prepare for the bank deposit,
Sort and distribute incoming mail and invoices,
Count laundry coins,
Distribute due backs,
Prepare change for front desk (FD) and Food and Beverage (F&B) teams,
Review and replenish ATM cash,
Procure of office supplies,
Regularly transfer financial documents to the accounting archive (storage room in the basement),
After the probationary period, the following duties will be introduced:

Assist Accounts Payable (AP): [1] Enter F&B invoices, [2] Scan and index all invoices and supporting documents,
Assist Accounts Receivable (AR): [1] Post miscellaneous items such as coin laundry and commissions, [2] Invoice tour and conventions, [3] Clear month-end house accounts, post rent, and apply payments against,
Update inventory prices for F&B and document the counts at the end of the month. Participate in conducting the monthly F&B inventory count,
Assist with reviewing F&B bills and recording staff personal accounts usage for AR.
Review and process client credit applications,
File guests' F&B room charge bills from the FD (bi-weekly),
Assist in other AR and AP duties in the absence of the Financial Controller or Assistant Controller,
Work on special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements and our Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role,
Strong knowledge of budgeting and accounts payable processes,
Proficiency in data entry with high attention to detail,
Familiarity with accounting software is an asset,
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively,
Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and vendors.
