Banff Avenue Brewing Company is a well established brewery and restaurant who has made a name for itself as a local favourite. Nestled in the beautiful Banff National Park, we are a high volume business with a focus on creating amazing guest experiences and offering quality food and beverage with exceptional craft beer. A part of the Bearhill brewing family, we current boast breweries and distilleries in Banff, Jasper, Calgary and Edmonton.

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. If you have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, work well in a team and are willing to share your knowledge and skills we'd love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.

- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.

- Train and mentor kitchen staff in food handling techniques, safety practices, and cooking methods.

- Maintain inventory of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary to ensure proper stock levels.

- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.

- Assist in the day to day running of the kitchen including working on prep or line as needed.

What you have:

- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.

- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety practices, and culinary techniques.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality.

- Experience with team management and fostering a positive work culture is highly valued.
