The Position
 
The Consultant will act as Project Manager to The Consultant will act as Project Manager to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities required to develop, organize and execute the scope of work according to schedule, specifications and budget as directed by Sunshine Village Corporation.  The Consultant will manage the development of the proposed construction plan; oversee the organization, scheduling and implementation of the plan.
 
Essential Functions
•	Plan and submit project budget estimates
•	Plan and prepare construction schedule and milestones as well as monitor and prepare progress reports against the established and approved schedules in the project plan
•	Ensure all permits, licenses and other regulatory requirements, including Parks Canada and any assessments are in place and complied with
•	Oversee and ensure Provincial and Federal construction practices, codes and procedures are in place and followed
•	Inspect and review work and activities ensuring compliance with the scope of work, building codes, labor and safety codes
•	Conduct regular safety inspections, investigate damages, accidents , or delays in the construction plan
•	Respond to and take action to deal with weather disturbances, animal (bear and wildlife) alerts, and other unexpected delays or situations
•	Represent Sunshine Village Corporation when negotiating contacts and outlining requirements of the project, review contracts with Sunshine Village Corporation for approval including revisions, changes, additions and change orders
•	Determine labor requirements, supervise and hire all contract and staff, outside contractors and subcontractors working on the project
•	Manage procurement and timely sourcing and delivery of supplies in accordance with Sunshine Village Corporation’s procurement and accounting practices and policies
•	Manage and maintain document control functions, including tracking and logging of project documents, reports and regulatory/licensing compliance
•	Maintain and update active project files include logging deliverables, site information, information on changes, and client/supplier correspondence
•	Implement a quality control plan and reporting schedule, implement corrective actions as required
Experience and Requirements
•	Several years’ experience in the construction industry
•	Professional construction management education, Project Management Certification (PMP)
•	Proven ability to execute and complete projects on time and within budget
•	Ability to coordinate activities and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, vendors and installers on a daily basis to provide constant communication regarding the progress of the project
•	Proven and demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to motivate and engage those working under your direction
•	Ability to coordinate multiple activities, manage people and deadlines concurrently
