Hotel Grounds Attendant (Spring/Summer 2016)
Working in the Hotel Grounds department, the Grounds person is involved in landscaping, groundskeeping and maintenance duties to ensure our property exceeds our guests' expectations in the summer. During the winter, the Attendant is involved in grounds keeping maintenance ensuring the property is clear of snow and ice to ensure the safety of our guests.

Summary of Responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Hotel Grounds Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 
•	Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service 
•	Ensure the grounds, curbs, and hard surfaces around property are clean, swept, and free of rubbish, gravel, and plant debris at all times
•	Changing of rubbish and recycling bins, emptying of ash tubes, replenishing of wood piles, emptying of steel collection
•	Labor intensive work in the form of digging, shoveling, lifting, pushing, and assorted tasks.
•	Summer specific responsibilities include: 
o	Mowing, trimming, weeding, edging of lawns and mulch beds around property
o	Cleaning of sidewalks, driveways, outdoor light fixtures, window ledges, and all outdoor public spaces
o	Ensure sidewalks, mulch beds, and other areas of the property are weed free
o	Other tasks as assigned
•	Winter specific responsibilities include:
o	Ensures the sidewalks, pathways, and stairs are free of snow and ice at all times
o	Operation of snow removal equipment as required
o	Assisting in major projects and events as required throughout the winter season
o	Assisting with holiday decorations as required
o	Other tasks as assigned
 
Qualifications: 
•	Previous experience is an asset 
•	Class 5 Driver’s License
•	Updated driver’s abstract (no serious infractions in past year)
•	Positive, outgoing attitude
•	Detailed oriented
•	Enjoy a repetitive environment
•	Strong organizational skills
•	Perform tasks under minimal supervision
•	Ability to work in team and independently
•	Able to work a flexible hours including mornings and evenings
•	Ability to drive a standard transmission is an asset

•	Constant standing and walking throughout shift 
•	Lifting: Under 70lbs 30% of Work Time
•	Carrying: Under 50lbs 30% of Work Time
•	Pulling/Pushing:Under 50lbs 10% of Work Time
•	Motions: Walking, bending, standing, shovelling, reaching, kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing tall ladders, repetitive tasks/movements
•	Work Environment: Exposure to heights, hot glue, dust, slippery surfaces, garbage, cigarette butts, and variety of temperatures/conditions 
 
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
