Job Description

As Chef de Cuisine, you are the driving force behind the daily culinary operations of your venue, bringing together creativity, consistency, and leadership to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will lead your kitchen with purpose and energy, executing thoughtfully crafted menus that reflect your outlet’s identity while inspiring your team to perform at their best.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces innovation, and takes pride in delivering refined, memorable cuisine rooted in a strong sense of place.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Execution

Lead the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth, efficient service across all meal periods.
Execute menus with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, maintaining the highest culinary standards.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team on menu development, seasonal changes, and concept evolution.
Ensure all dishes reflect quality ingredients, thoughtful technique, and elevated presentation.
Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire a high-performing culinary team.
Foster a positive, respectful, and performance-driven kitchen culture.
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback, supporting growth and development at all levels.
Lead by example during service, maintaining composure, professionalism, and clear communication.
Operational & Financial Excellence

Manage labour, scheduling, and productivity to align with business needs and budgets.
Oversee ordering, inventory, and cost control, ensuring effective food cost management and minimal waste.
Maintain accurate records and ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of all products.
Quality, Safety & Standards

Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards, ensuring a clean and compliant kitchen environment.
Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes.
Conduct regular quality checks and continuously seek opportunities to elevate the guest experience.
Collaboration & Culture

Partner closely with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service and a cohesive guest experience.
Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Embody Rimrock values of connection, creativity, and authenticity in all interactions.

Qualifications

What You Bring

Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, upscale, or luxury environment.
Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
Solid understanding of kitchen financials, including food cost, labour, and inventory management.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Deep knowledge of culinary techniques, trends, and best practices.
FoodSafe certification (or equivalent).
Bonus If You Bring

Exposure to wellness-driven or nutrition-focused culinary concepts.
Strong mentorship track record with developing emerging culinary talent.
Experience contributing to menu innovation or concept development.
