Full job description
Nesters Market has an opening for a Full-Time Service Clerk in the Meat Department for our store located in Banff, AB. This position reports directly to the Store Manager.

Clerks are responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers in our busy grocery store.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that our food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet or exceed our company’s high standards
Wrap and package prepared meats
Assist with preparing orders for special cuts, as per customer requests
Courteously answer all customer inquiries regarding different cuts, serving sizes etc
Stocking displays to ensure adequate product levels in the department
Ensure all prepared items are properly labeled, covered and rotated
Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
Keep department continually clean, organized and free of safety hazards
Follow all workplace and food safety policies and practices to ensure a safe work environment
Present a neat, fresh, and well-merchandised department
Skills and Qualifications:

Food Safe ticket an asset
Knowledge of Meat department operations and skills an asset
Positive attitude and superb customer service skills
Previous retail or customer service experience in a grocery setting an asset
Commitment to health and safety in the workplace, with the ability to work in a safe and responsible manner at all times
Must be self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
Can juggle multiple tasks, manage your time well, and work well under pressure
Able to take direction, adhere to established company policies and follow through with assigned tasks
Willingness and availability to work a variety of shifts, including: Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends & Holidays
Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
Excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to stand and perform physically demanding, repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
Job requires manual dexterity; attention to detail; hand-eye co-ordination;
Standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, kneeling at times
Physical ability to stand, lift, and handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Cold environment, noisy, with some strong odours
