Job Description

At Rimrock Banff, we believe extraordinary events are created through thoughtful details, genuine hospitality, and unforgettable moments. As a Lead Event Server, you will play a meaningful role in bringing some of life’s most memorable occasions to life - from elegant weddings and celebratory galas to intimate gatherings and large-scale corporate events set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Canadian Rockies.

As a Lead Event Server, you will guide and support the Event Services team on the floor while leading by example through professionalism, care, and attention to detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in elevated service, and enjoy creating warm and welcoming experiences for every guest.

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

Deliver warm, engaging, and professional service throughout all banquet and event functions.
Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and thoughtfully to requests.
Ensure all events are executed to Rimrock standards with attention to detail and presentation.
Maintain a strong presence on the floor to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
Read the room and adjust service rhythm based on guest energy and event purpose
Team Leadership & Support

Act as a point of contact for Event Servers during events and provide ongoing guidance and support.
Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and strong service execution.
Assist with delegating responsibilities and coordinating service timelines during functions.
Support onboarding and training of new team members.
Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
Event Operations

Assist with room setup, table settings, buffet presentation, banquet décor, and event breakdown.
Ensure event spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
Communicate effectively with Culinary, Stewarding, Conference Services, and leadership teams to ensure seamless event execution.
Monitor banquet timelines and proactively address operational challenges.
Ensure all health, safety, and liquor service standards are followed.
Administrative & Operational Support

Support accurate event preparation and understanding of banquet event orders (BEOs).
Assist leaders with inventory counts, supply organization, and operational readiness.
Report maintenance concerns, guest feedback, or operational issues promptly.
Participate in team meetings and ongoing training initiatives.

Qualifications

What You Bring

Experience in banquets, events, or high-volume service environments
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in hospitality is considered an asset.
Deep understanding of service flow, timing, and guest experience
Ability to remain composed, solution-focused, and adaptable under pressure
Alberta ProServe Certificate required

Bonus If You Bring

Previous experience in luxury hotel events or fine dining banquets
Mentorship experience or a passion for training service teams
Knowledge of food and beverage pairings, wine, or cocktail service
Expertise in high-volume, multi-course event execution

Physical Demands

Continuous standing and walking for long periods
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25lbs / 12kg; occasional lifting up to 50lbs / 23kg
Pushing heavy service carts
Physical stamina to lift up to 50lbs, push/pull carts, and remain active throughout long shifts.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humid kitchens, and cleaning environments
Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
