Job Type: Full-Time


We are seeking an experienced and driven Executive Sous Chef to join our leadership team in Banff. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a high-volume environment, leads with professionalism, and is passionate about food quality, consistency, and team development.

The Executive Sous Chef works directly with the Executive Chef and management team to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain standards, and help drive culinary performance across service, preparation, training, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and support all back-of-house operations during service
Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards
Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, and cost controls
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen team members
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards
Support menu development, feature creation, and seasonal changes
Monitor prep levels and service execution in a fast-paced environment
Help manage food cost, waste reduction, and labour efficiency
Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented kitchen culture
Qualifications
3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proven ability to lead a team under pressure
Solid understanding of food costing and inventory systems
Passion for hospitality and guest experience
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Culinary certification is considered an asset
