The Opportunity The Revenue Analyst is responsible for managing and collecting daily data, handling revenue processes, analyzing information, and preparing reports. The role also oversees and coordinates all financial activities related to conferences, including billing, invoicing, and collections. The Revenue Analyst follows and monitors the revenue management processes and standards set by the Revenue Manager, with the goal of increasing revenue and making the best use of facilities and resources. Specific Accountabilities Reporting to the Revenue Manager, below are some key responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of group billing, including postings, outlet billing, room charges, billing summaries, invoice generation, and payment collection. Ensure all invoices are accurately coded, approved, verified, reconciled, and issued in accordance with Banff Centre policies and client contract requirements. Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable through proactive follow-up, delinquency notification, and management of overdue accounts in accordance with established practices and procedures. Assess interest charges on overdue balances as required while maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships. Administer credit application processes and assess the creditworthiness of new customers in accordance with established criteria. Coordinate the resolution of complex billing issues and serve as the primary point of escalation for financial process inquiries. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve billing processes, procedures, and documentation in accordance with standards established by the Revenue Manager. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to Conference Coordinators and other stakeholders on financial and billing procedures. Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external clients to support effective data management, reporting, invoice collection, and financial operations. Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of conference financial operations, including deposit tracking, group billing, invoice generation, payment collection, and financial reporting. Support the Revenue Manager in the development and execution of transient and group pricing strategies, yield management initiatives, and inventory optimization practices. Analyze group business opportunities, demand trends, pickup patterns, and inventory utilization to support pricing, forecasting, and revenue maximization decisions. Ensure revenue management systems and related technologies, including Visual One, InfoGenesis, reporting databases, and associated platforms, are properly configured, validated, and operating effectively. Administer and optimize hotel room and meeting space inventory for conference groups, programming activities (arts and leadership), and internal bookings. Monitor pick up against forecasts, recommend block adjustments, and coordinate inventory requirements with Conference Services Managers, Sales, Arts and Leadership programming, and Operations teams. Monitor data quality across all systems, including segmentation, denials tracking, inventory management, and revenue-related information. Identify discrepancies, coordinate corrective actions, and promote adherence to established standards and procedures. Gather, extract, analyze, and interpret data from multiple systems, databases, and operational sources to support revenue management, strategic planning, and business decision-making. Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reporting, dashboards, performance metrics, and analytics using tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, VBA, SQL, and other reporting platforms as appropriate Maintain historical and current data integrity to support forecasting, benchmarking, and industry-standard analytics. Collaborate with Sales, Conference Services, Reservations, Finance, Programming, and Operations teams to support revenue management objectives, inventory control, reporting accuracy, and business performance. Serve as the primary point of contact for meeting space and inventory management inquiries, proactively identifying capacity constraints, resolving inventory conflicts, and maximizing utilization of available resources. Develop and maintain procedures, documentation, and system processes that support operational efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, implement, and support process, system, and reporting enhancements that improve business performance. Prepare revenue, occupancy, market performance, and operational reports for internal stakeholders and external industry partners, including Smith Travel Research (STR) and the Banff Lake Louise Hotel Association (BLLHA). Qualification and Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Finance, Business or a related field. 3 to 5 years work experience in the hospitality industry Ability to multi-task, effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines Exceptional critical thinking, quantitative, and qualitative analytical skills Advanced Excel skills Strong knowledge of Property Management Software High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and maintain relationships with all team members Literacy with the Python programming language for advanced analytics and automation is an asset Excellent written, verbal communication, organizational and comprehension skills Employment Terms & Benefits In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, salaried support staff position, subject to a 6 month probation period. The annual salary for this position is between $51,022.40 and $53,560, depending on experience, based on working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will have access to a range of benefits through Alberta Blue Cross and will be eligible to participate in our defined benefit pension plan.
