Position Overview

We’re looking for a dedicated and people-focused Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team and help create a welcoming, memorable experience for every guest. You’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, supporting and developing your team, and working closely with other departments to ensure the property runs smoothly. Key Responsibilities

HUMAN RESOURCES

Promote Basecamp positively both within and beyond the workplace, aligning with our core values.
Conducts onboarding, training, and “on the floor” coaching with all direct reports.
Ensure that staff members are updated on new cleaning technologies and techniques.
Perform regular evaluations of housekeeping staff, including a formal three-month probationary review and annual performance assessments.
Address performance issues and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in the recruitment process by screening, interviewing, and selecting new housekeeping staff.
Collaborate with People & Culture and GM for onboarding and orientation of new employees.
Comply with the Basecamp policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
Ensure that you and your team wear uniforms, maintain a clean and professional personal appearance, and adhere to Basecamp Property Management Ltd. standards.

OPERATIONS

Be present on the floor to provide support, guidance, and direction.
Insist upon meticulous cleanliness and organization in guest rooms, public areas, and internal storage areas/offices.
Organize essential materials to equip the team for daily tasks.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including linen closets, common storage rooms, offices, and public washrooms.
Report and facilitate seamless communication among operational departments, including Guest Services, Maintenance, and Management.
Ensure rooms are cleaned and ready to sell by the guaranteed arrival time.
Schedule and track guest room and public area deep cleans as necessary.
Performs any other related tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
Communicate shortages and levels of cleaning supplies and equipment to General Manager.
Manage staffing levels to meet operational demands and budget constraints.
Ensure accurate labor tracking and recording in Dayforce.
Identify and suggest cost-saving measures in supplies and operations.
Collaborate with the General Manager to optimize the availability of guest rooms, with a focus on maximizing revenue at all times.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all housekeeping activities. (WHMIS, First Aid, etc.)
Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Conduct routine reviews of housekeeping practices, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
Promote positive relationships through effective communication and cooperation with all co-workers and guests.
Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks repetitively, including standing for long periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
Previous working knowledge of hotel PMS applications – Webrez Pro experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word.
